However, my Greek professor was an old RSV man (NOT a NRSV advocate) and I learned to appreciate the essentially literal approach. My second translation choice would be the NASB.Larry McCallister, Jr.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09979516773032545126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17617194.post-60899058233147464892009-09-17T01:48:49.785+01:002009-09-17T01:48:49.785+01:00Mike: http://evepheso.wordpress.com/2009/09/14/dyn...Mike: http://evepheso.wordpress.com/2009/09/14/dynamic-equvalence/

And Halden:
http://www.inhabitatiodei.com/2009/09/14/helm-dynamic-equivalence/

Take issue, rightly it seems to me, with Helm's logic.Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11545870883633534790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17617194.post-60093155413982819972009-09-16T19:06:06.586+01:002009-09-16T19:06:06.586+01:00Hi Guy,

I read the NIV in English, but have been challenged through studying Spanish to see some of the attendant dangers of dynamic equivalence.

As always, Guy, you provoke thought.
