For you to go out and buy all these books would cost at least $500 and probably closer to $900... I'm not sure what the exchange rate is at the moment, but you get the idea. :)

With a $299.95 Pre-Pub price, this collection is still a great deal, even if only a handful of the titles interest you. Hope this helps!Kenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13913854422067376260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17617194.post-46573548038087355222009-02-12T12:16:00.000+00:002009-02-12T12:16:00.000+00:00You're right, Guy. Overall, if someone was setting out in the ministry and needed a good set of commentaries, then Welwyn would serve them well. Getting them from Logos would certainly be cheaper than buying them in book form.Guy Davieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09184743462264437085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17617194.post-71417496539276222022009-02-12T10:48:00.000+00:002009-02-12T10:48:00.000+00:00I'm wondering if it is worth getting logos for. I own genesis, romans and galatians - and I second the view that galatians is very good.

I share adrian's concern that the overall quality does not hold up across the board. Also, they seem to vary in scope, from the scholarly to the devotional.Jonathan Hunthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12341478626195362383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17617194.post-90311057802354042792009-02-12T08:35:00.000+00:002009-02-12T08:35:00.000+00:00Hmm. That's the state with a lot of sets, I guess (I know) but particularly with this lot. Seeing as I've just come back from a conference on the law, I'd have to say that Edgar Andrews on Galatians is good too.

They are often edited sermons (certainly the case in all of Michael Bentley's volumes; sermons which I sat through) - so I wonder if I might spend better money on, say, the Piper Manuscript Library - £50 for 1,200 manuscripts?

Well done for EP for jumping on the Logos bus, though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
