The impassioned God of B. B. Warfield

B. B. Warfield

Over at Helm's Deep, Paul Helm discusses Warfield on divine passion. The great Princetonian is often dismissed as a ploddingly conservative and unoriginal theologian. But Helm draws on his insights into the emotional life of Christ to propose a new way of understanding the impassibility of God. See here for this stimulating article.

Excellent article! BTW: One of the reasons behind my own passion for attending Princeton Seminary had to do with B.B. Warfield. I wanted to get access to the library and to the actual, physical places where he lived out the faith.

FYI: There is a typo in Mr. Helm’s fine article. Note the phrase “Is this how it is the God?” in the fourth line down of the sixth paragraph from the last. Perhaps it should read “Is this how it is (to or with) God?”

Enjoy, ron

Glad you enjoyed the article. I'll let Paul Helm know about the typo. Good proofreading!
