Yeah but only because of the zillion-odd errors the English made...

And what a miserably underperformed season Wales had. They have the talent to beat anyone - Aussies included! They should do whatever it is the Irish do. Anyone who loses to Scotland deserves to be taken out and shot.

Guy,
Once upon a time a Scottish theology student was due to do devotions at the beginning of the Seminary week. Before breakfast was over the Principal came up and thanked said Scottish student profusely. Student was a bit puzzled at first because he hadn't said anything yet.

Then he realized that the thanks were for the Scots winning the Grand Slam on the Saturday by defeating the English in the Calcutta cup. The big point was that both England and Scotland were up for the Grand Slam but the usual suspects in the media were so excited about an England victory they forgot the Scots were also playing to win everything.

So it was that I, representing all of Scotland was personally thanked by the Principal (who of course is Welsh) on behalf of all the Celtic peoples. What a privilege!

Mind you, I'm almost prepared to enjoy England playing well for the sight of a bit of Jason Robinson magic but well played the Welsh!

Thanks for those kind remarks, John. I will not mention that us beating the old enemy meant that you got the wooden spoon. Mentioning such a thing would be contary to the spirit of Celtic brotherhood.
