My top ten recent British songs (1990's-now)

I've limited myself to one song per band and exluded bands who've already had their own top 10 ie Coldplay & Paul Weller (here).

10. Monster, Automatic
9. Take me out, Franz Ferdinand
8. North hanging rock, British Sea Power
7. Tumble and fall, Feeder
6. Local boy in a photograph, Stereophonics
5. Let there be love, Oasis
4. Bad dream, Keane
3. Sweet song, Blur
2. Run, Snow Patrol
1. Design for life, The Manic Street Preachers

no Radiohead. thus your list lacks authority...

This is my list. If you don't like it do your own! ;-)

No, I am afraid the supremacy of Radiohead is an objective fact and will brook no subjective counter arguments.

What cultural imperialism! What pop foundationalism! You are just so modern. The way you are privileging your own empirical experience of Radiohead just smacks of bankrupt Enlightenment epistemology.

Have you never heard of the postconservative, cultural linguistic approach to pop? How can you say such things while praising Vanhoozer on your blog?

Just like to say I've heard of a couple of the bands and none of the songs.

No 1927?

No Midnight Oil?

Great list Guy! Particularly happy to see British Sea power and the Manics feature. Only just discovered the blog, but by the looks of the theology and your music taste I'm going to enjoy exploring it more...
