I have been a Wilberforce fan since forever. And the movie looks good so I'll probably see it. But, in general, I am suspiscious of "Christian" movies. They tend to be poor movies (with a few exceptions) and used for political purposes. For instance, here in the U.S., Republican Senator Sam Brownback, a presidential hopeful, is calling himself a "Wilberforce Christian." But I don't see much in the way of comparison.
It bothers me a bit that Christians in the West are often identified as being "right wing". I hope that renewed attention to old Wilber will remind us that social justice is part of the Christian ethic.
The film looks good from the preview and is packed full of Brit character actors, so I'm looking forward to seeing it soon.
